"Can We Hear the Shape of a Bottle?" by Nalini Anantharaman, Collège de France.

How is the sound produced by an object related to its shape? We will illustrate this question by playing various instruments, and we will present the work of Daniel Bernoulli (18th century), as well as a brief overview of current mathematical issues.
